I recently bought an Illustrator subscription and have been obsessed with creating designs in it. It has been a minor learning curve as there is an abundance of helpful tutorials online that show tips, shortcuts and just overall good practices to form when starting out in Adobe Illustrator.
The main method that I have used to learn and master Adobe Illustrator is through YouTube.
Some of my favorite YouTube Channels to watch for Illustrator tutorials are:
He gives clear tutorials on Illustrator, Photoshop, XD, Premiere and other design tools.
- How to Graphic Design (https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCJneT8kR87YUTTi_jUEcg5w)
Gives short tutorials on how to create visual designs, there is no narrator. Just screen recordings of completing projects from start to finish.
- Pixel and Bracket (https://www.youtube.com/c/Pixelandbracket/videos)
Pixel & Bracket is a channel to help educate and inspire others. Every week Spencer posts tutorials, creative videos, and more.
- Graphic Tweakz (https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCoY6V4cYFCVKJXEdSEywjoQ)
This channel for is great for looking around at graphic design and logo design. The channel uses Photoshop, Illustrator, Cinema 4D and After Effects to create and animate logo designs.
These are just some of the channels that I have found to be the most helpful if you are just starting out in Adobe Illustrator. I feel more confident week by week as I create more designs. Naturally, using a new tool can be overwhelming and even intimidating, but it feels like you have added support when you can do a quick search in YouTube and have an expert guide you through the platform’s tools. I hope some of these channels can help you too!
